We turn the world’s waste
into essential resources

HJ Enthoven transforms used batteries and scrap materials into high-purity lead, alloys, and by-products that power modern life; from renewable energy infrastructure to electric mobility and construction.

Leaders in Responsible Resource Recovery

We recover high quality lead and other materials from used batteries and scrap. Our process focuses on efficiency, careful handling and reducing what becomes waste.

Our work helps close the loop for industries that rely on durable, high-quality materials: renewable energy, electric mobility, cable manufacture, and construction.

How We Work

Safety and responsibility guide every decision.

Our work is designed around the wellbeing of our teams and the protection of the environment. We follow rigorous safety and environmental management practices, supported by ongoing monitoring, training and improvement. We provide clear reporting so our community and partners can see how we are performing.

Responsible Recycling

HJ Enthoven processes up to 150,000 tonnes of lead-containing scrap largely in the form of waste automotive and industrial batteries, annually the largest battery recycler in Europe.

Recovery through recycling

Achieves >99.7 % lead recovery and 99.99 % purity. Secondary lead, that is as good as, if not better than, primary lead.
Engineering Excellence

We improve our processes by asking better questions.

Innovation for us is practical. We test, refine and adapt our methods so each stage of production becomes cleaner and more efficient. Our technical teams work together to solve problems, improve consistency and ensure every output meets the same expected standard.

People & Community

We succeed through cooperation.

Many of our colleagues have developed their craft here over years of shared experience.  We work closely with customers, suppliers and local partners, building relationships based on reliability and open dialogue.
Teamwork and shared responsibility shape how work gets done each day.

Heritage & Future

We learn from our past to build a cleaner future.

Our long history in lead refining informs the way we operate today. We continue to invest in improvements that reduce waste, use resources more carefully and strengthen our role as a responsible recycler.
Our aim is simple. To leave more value and less waste than we found.
